RADICAL AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Description:

Developed a proposal for an affordable housing project that involved the re-organization of urban development and housing density distribution within New York City. The design was submitted for the Urban SOS: hOUR City organized by AECOM and Van Alen Institute.

 

Tasks Completed:

  • ​​Generated geospatial maps of  New York City’s socio-economic demography with mapping tool QGIS

  • Developed a framework for affordable housing by proposing development in underserved areas of New York City

  • Designed and conceptualized modular housing units that make efficient use of compact space

​​

  • Provided 3D rendering and graphic design support with SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and, InDesign for final presentation report.
